Prayer Clusters and Connections.

Last weekend Maria and I traveled up to Redding, California for a Mission Conference with a church that we have been affiliated with for many years.

The kids stayed home as they were all involved in the musical production of Narnia that weekend.

We really wondered how this weekend would go…it started with us and every other human in the airport that day, being evacuated. We still don’t know why but miraculously we made our flight despite the mystery.

Saturday night was amazing: the kids of the church got involved asking and answering questions about mission life. The church Skipped most of the missionaries that couldn’t make it to conference: some got up at 3:00 am in the morning to chat with us live. Dedicated and sleepy.

The rest of us mingled, were interviewed, ate, talked, caught up and just were generally loved on.

Then Sunday came. The church told about the ongoing expression and experiences of their own tangible mission’s journey.

Rotan Honduras was in their power point pictures. A house we helped build onto many years ago was right there in front of us on the screen. We know the people that they were working with.

They were in South Korea as well and though we haven’t been there, they were going with a ministry that we introduced them too many years ago. In fact it was that same ministry that was connecting them to Honduras too.

It was really fun to see what came from an introduction years ago: A network and connection of missions.

It made us feel a bit more of the church and conference to know that God used that little introduction to do big things.

Pictured here are South Korean “Style” Prayer Clusters that our American church was closing the conference with. There were maybe 5 too 6 of these clusters spread through out the building. They were all praying at once….no taking turns like orderly Americans. They were praying for us and all the other missionaries. Prayer: it works!! We walked away well loved, feeling connected and very encouraged to say the least.

Teens

This weekend we celebrated a birthday of one of our Teens: Kaory actually turned 18 last week but we waited till Saturday to celebrate.

She invited a few friends which turned into a few more friends which tripled the amount coming and of course, some canceled at the last minute and other were extremely late and….Teens is why the word chaos was invited. Nuff said.

But when Teens gather at our house it always turns into a live musical performance with many musical genres being expressed but then something cooler happens: it ALWAYS warps into a time of worship. Our house is full of Teens, chaos, pizza, music, worship and HIM…in the end everything turns toward HIM…everything is really about HIM.

May it always be so…
